Real Weddings Mini-Moon: SLS Hotel, Beverly Hills

Glamour and glitz have a new address in 90210. On the strip of LA known as Restaurant Row, a new hotel has taken the area by storm, offering its own celebrated eatery and an ambience worthy of a close up. Say hello to The SLS Hotel, a chic, contemporary compound with style to spare.

Recommended Resort:  The SLS Hotel. The first property to debut in this new hotel brand, The SLS (style, luxury, service) made a big impression on Angelenos when it first opened, offering a morning to midnight playground for dining, dishing and diversion.

What strikes you immediately after pulling into the valet is the design – by the artful Philippe Starck – modern and masterful with a touch of Hollywood whimsy, there’s plenty of eye candy to be had, from a dramatic horse sculpture in the lobby to a library like café with elaborate chandeliers and machine gun lamps. Keyword: FUN. The rooms are spacious and comfortable, some with views of the nearby hills and hot happenings to the north.

Check-In:  465 S. La Cienega Blvd., Los Angeles. 310-247-0400, slshotels.com

Check-Out:  Ciel Spa. Blanketed in dreamy, ethereal white, the 5,000-square-foot spa inspires heaven from first encounter. Starck also designed the couple’s suite, which features side-by-side soaking tubs and plenty of romantic possibilities. Escape with custom aromatherapy blends, treatment beds configured with iPod docking stations, signature treatments and more. Head up to the elegant Altitude pool on the sixth floor and unwind to a dazzling sunset.

Don’t Miss:  Bazaar. The hotel’s signature eatery is also one of the most popular in the city. Chef José Andrés offers his delectable small plates to lucky patrons.

The atmosphere is lively and entertaining, with a mix of lounge and dining spots and a very European feel. Sample tapas-style plates paired with cocktails or fine wines, but save room for desserts from the Patisserie, a sweet grand finale to an unforgettable culinary experience.
