Real Weddings Sunday: Presenting Sarah and Alden Turold
The Couple: Sarah and Alden Turold
Wedding Date: November 7, 2010
Photography by Grandeur Photography
Tell us a little about you and your beloved: We met at a restaurant that we both worked at to get through college. First we were friends and then our relationship grew into more. We dated for about two years before we got engaged. Our engagement was seven months and that was the perfect amount of time for us. We are best friends and believe that God brought us together. We are so blessed to have found each other.
What was the most amazing part of your day? The most amazing part of the day was seeing each other for the first time. It was so special for both of us.
What else would you like to share about your big day? My father has been diagnosed with cancer and it was such a blessing that we were able to have him there and walk me down the aisle. It was a very emotional time for the three of us!
Ceremony Site & Reception Venue & Caterer: Timber Creek Ballroom
Photographer: Grandeur Photography
Videographer: Ronnie Aradondo
Wedding Planner: Myrna Smith
Cake: Divine Desserts
Flowers: Sandy’s Florist
Wedding Dress: I was able to find a woman who had recently closed her designer bridal store and selling her wedding dresses.
Bridesmaid Dresses: David’s Bridal
Hair & Makeup: Lindsay Francher
Invitations: Papyrus
DJ/Entertainment/Band: Ron West
Any advice you’d give to our readers who are planning their weddings right now? Take it one step at a time and don’t sweat the small stuff. It won’t matter on your big day and will stress you out for no reason.
Anything that you would have done differently if you were given the chance? There is nothing we would do differently! We loved every minute of it and still talk about how we want to do it again because it was such an amazing day!

Real Weddings Wednesday: Presenting Krista Belli & Justin Hyde
The Couple: Krista Belli & Justin Hyde
Wedding Date: June 11, 2011
Photography by Grandeur Photography
Tell us a little about you and your beloved: We met eight years ago at Rio Americano High School and became friends. We began dating in April of 2009 and eloped on Coronado Beach in San Diego on May 27, 2010. Justin works for the United States Coast Guard and we were given orders to move to Long Beach in the spring of 2010. We wanted a personal ceremony between the two of us because of our big move, but also wanted to celebrate with our families in Sacramento, which is why we had our beautiful wedding this past June in Rocklin. Justin is an active duty member, and I am finishing my degree in English Education.
What was the most amazing part of your day? Our photographer took us off site to a ranch in Lincoln for a bridal session before the ceremony because she knew horses are a big part of my life. We were able to take beautiful pictures next to an old 1940s dairy barn and with a Dutch Warmblood horse (my favorite!).
What else would you like to share about your big day? We created our own ceremony, which a friend of the family officiated for us. There were about 100 guests who attended, including new friends from our new home in Long Beach. We began our reception with the “watermelon crawl” and served salmon, chicken, rice pilaf, a summer salad, beer and wine. We had homemade decorations for the tables as well as wedding favors and a blown up picture from our engagement session instead of a guest book for our guests to sign. I would describe our wedding as “romantic elegant.” Overall, it was a successful evening and a beautiful wedding!

Any other of your wedding vendor(s) you’d like to call out? The amazing ladies at Alterations To Go in Carmichael!
First Dance Song: “Crazy Girl” by Eli Young Band
Any advice you’d give to our readers who are planning their weddings right now? Start early…something always seems to go haywire the closer you get to your wedding date! Relax and have fun with it. No one notices the hiccups at the end of it all, just that they had a blast dancing the night away with the new couple.
Anything that you would have done differently if you were given the chance? We would have hired a DJ had we known better, but decided to create our own play list and set it up to a sound system instead. We wound up having a few people mess with it and play their own songs all night!

Real Weddings Wednesday: Presenting Heather & TJ DeGrace
The Couple: Heather & TJ DeGrace
Wedding Date: May 29, 2011
Photography by Grandeur Photography
Tell us a little about you and your beloved: TJ and I are best friends! We got together in August of 2002. We were both 14 years old and in high school, and have been together ever since…high school sweethearts to be exact!
We both say we knew right from the beginning that we were meant for one another. We were “so in love!” We had big dreams. Who would have thought that nine years later we’d actually be married? It is the best feeling ever!
To have and to hold, to cherish and to love your best friend and boyfriend/girlfriend since you were young is something that not many people get to say now days. We feel so blessed to have one another, and we are beyond excited for the many wonderful years to come!
What was the most amazing part of your day? The entire day was wonderful! We could not really say any moment was any better than another, but it was truly amazing to be able to share such a meaningful and special event with all of the people who have loved and supported us since day one.
The smiles and tears of joy meant so much to us! Seeing each other, and seeing our friends and family, having a great time was just breathtaking! We will never forget that feeling. We have some of the best friends and family anyone could ever wish for!
What else would you like to share about your big day? The entire day was just beautiful! It was everything we had ever dreamed of and more! Thanks Mom! Love you! xoxo
Ceremony & Reception Site: The Dante Club
Photographer: Grandeur Photography
Cake: Rick’s Dessert Diner-Yum! The best cake we have ever had (besides my mom’s). We had four different flavors because it too hard to choose!
Flowers: The Blossom Shop. Our flowers were just beautiful! Everyone loved them and still talk about how gorgeous they were. That says a lot!
Favors: We had a candy table theme “Love is Sweet” with bags that said “All You Need is Love…And Candy”
Wedding Dress: David’s Bridal
Bridesmaid Dresses: David’s Bridal
Hair & Makeup: Bri from the Atrium Salon in Granite Bay. She did a fabulous job and has a ton of experience!
Invitations: The American Wedding Album
DJ/Entertainment/Band: Music & More Entertainment. Bryan was awesome and totally had it covered. We did not have to say a word!
Photo Booth: Annie’s Photo Booth. It came with a scrapbook and all. Loved it!
Honeymoon location: Maui. We had a blast! I would recommend this as a honeymoon spot to anyone!
Any other of your wedding vendor(s) you’d like to call out? We had “Save-the-Date” magnets made and they were great! We ordered them from Magnet Queen.
First Dance Song: “I Thought I Loved You Then” by Brad Paisley
Any advice you’d give to our readers who are planning their weddings right now? Don’t sweat the small stuff! Assign large tasks to only a couple of close friends or relatives who will work together with you to get the job done the way you would like.
Also, be up front and let your vendors know exactly what you want and how you want things to be done. Always remember it is your one big day, but at the same time stay true to who you are and don’t get caught in the “Bridezilla” shoes! Smile and don’t look down when you walk down the aisle. This will be the best day of your life!!!
Anything that you would have done differently if you were given the chance? If I could have done anything differently, I would have shortened the length of the songs for the one-on-one dances. They are very important and a wonderful tradition, but you can only watch someone dance for so long. If we would have done this, we would have had more time for dancing, celebrating and partying with our guests. That’s it!
