Tell us a little about your company? We are the innovative leader in hospitality and culinary excellence. We have 86 guest rooms, an award-winning restaurant, a resort spa that has received honors, and a wedding, meeting and event venue. We have over twenty years of experience in weddings and events. We are driven by passion and commitment to our guests, team, and community.
When did you establish your business? Wine & Roses opened as a bed and breakfast with 11 rooms in 1988, and was expanded in 1997 to include the Garden Ballroom, Wedding Garden and 24 additional guest rooms in 1997.
Since then, we have added a 5,600 square feet state of the art full-service resort spa, an outdoor pool, a well-appointed fitness center, 12 long term stay Signature suites, over 7,000 sq feet of meeting/event space, and now 86 guest rooms.
What sets you apart from your competition? I think several things… Almost all of us who work here live in this community, so we are vested; we see past and future brides and customers at the park with our kids.
We offer an entire experience; we believe in nurturing the human spirit through exquisite food, fine wine, therapeutic spa services, relaxing and well-appointed amenities, distinctive surroundings, and memorable events. We want our guests to truly savor the Wine & Roses experience.
Where do you find inspiration? From my incredible teammates; they are so talented, genuine, passionate and dedicated. They inspire me to be better and do better everyday.
When you opened shop, what was your promise to your customers? This isn’t my shop, but when I took this position, my promise to our customers was to commit to my team — to motivate and celebrate and train them to want to provide the very best service and experience for our customers. I can honestly say that each and every one of them does.
We are not perfect, but they have genuine care and desire in their hearts to want to be the very best for our customers. They truly care about each and every customer they meet and talk to and enjoy the opportunity to provide a one-of-a-kind event that will be remembered for a lifetime.
Do you have any hidden talents? Sadly, I do not have any hidden talents. I always wished I could play the guitar. In my dreams, I am a Rock Star…literally. I have my very own rock and roll band, and we jam!
Do you regularly blog? What’s your blog site? Yes! winerose.com/blog Also, we’re on Facebook — “like” us at facebook.com/wineandroseshotel.restaurant.spa

What’s your favorite local restaurant? The Restaurant at Wine & Roses of course — fresh, seasonal menus- yummy! Alebrejes in Lodi is another favorite — the fresh guacamole made tableside is to die for!
What’s your favorite local charity? So many good ones to choose from — Pink October Fashion Show & Dinner, Boys & Girls Club…to name a couple.
What is your favorite fun thing to do locally? Wine taste at the many Lodi wineries, go to Farmer’s Market in downtown Lodi on Thursday nights during the summer, hang out with my kids at the baseball park, and being on the Delta — doing anything water related; water-skiing, boating, tubing, or dining on the water.
Do you have secret vice or indulgence? What is it? Mexican Food!!
What are you most grateful for in life? My family and friends; having peace in my heart about who I am and what I do on this earth everyday — I have been given an opportunity to make a small difference.
If you were to plan your own wedding, or re-do your wedding, what elements would be most important to you? The people I choose to surround myself with on that day.
What advice would you can give to brides and grooms getting married today? While planning for your wedding is important, it is more important to plan for your marriage.

Mini-Moon Monday: Wine & Roses in Lodi
Greetings Real Weddings Magazine Mini-Mooners!
Today’s “quickie” comes by way of Lodi, home to an emerging wine appellation and otherworldly Wine & Roses Hotel, Restaurant & Spa – a romantic hotel, restaurant, spa and event venue surrounded by seven acres of pastoral beauty marked by a canopy of soaring trees and vibrant botanical gardens.
With a setting befitting a fairy-tale love affair, and its coveted position in the heart of San Joaquin Valley’s wine country, the aptly named Wine & Roses has already cemented its reputation as a preferred wedding venue among the engaged, but its amenities and locale – the resort is situated near the cobbled sidewalks, brick buildings, cultural attractions, clothing boutiques, and restaurants that make up Lodi’s historic downtown district – qualify it as the ideal spot for a dreamy Mini-Moon.
Antique merchants, concerts and culture, outdoor recreation and 70 world-class wineries are just some of the marquee reasons to Mini-Moon in Lodi, so put petal to the metal and reserve a romantic getaway at Wine & Roses – a budding resort ready to make arrangements for an occasion to remember.

Check out: Romance is sure to bloom in one of the resort’s amenity-rich Garden Rooms, but Real WeddingsMagazine Mini-Mooners have 87 different room and suite accommodations from which to choose – all will do the trick, by the way. Parking and a gourmet continental breakfast are complimentary with an overnight reservation, and Wine & Roses offers a variety of couples-oriented packages that are Mini-Moon perfect.
Complementing these offerings are the resort’s lovely grounds (charge up your point-and-shoots!), as is its beautiful and award-winning spa. In fact, spa travel Web site, Spas of America, recently named the Spa at Wine & Roses as one of the top 50 spas in America for 2009!
The Spa at Wine & Roses boasts a menu of soothing, now-we’re-talking therapies, treatments and special offers. The “Experience for Two,” for example, provides Real WeddingsMagazine Mini-Mooners with a luxuriant body scrub, followed by a detoxifying seaweed wrap and an hour-long massage at an amazingly good rate. Champagne and a spa lunch are provided poolside in the courtyard (book it – it is as fabulous as it sounds). After being thoroughly pampered (and that’s a promise), stop by The Nest – a spa boutique – to pick up various indulgences and take the Wine & Roses experience home!
