Real Wedding Inspiration Board: Presenting Lisa and Jeff Even
The Couple: Lisa and Jeff Even
Wedding Date: October 2, 2010

Tell us a little about you and your beloved: Often tough to admit, Jeff and I are a product of eHarmony! We met just about five years ago and were both in graduate school at UC Davis at the time; and have been inseparable ever since.
I know having “balance” is one thing that makes a very strong relationship and that definitely would describe ours. Jeff has a background in accounting and business, and my background is in science so from the very beginning we knew we were on opposite ends of the spectrum! Though our opinions can often differ, we wouldn’t have it any other way because we keep each other grounded. We are both excited to start our new life together and to see where this journey will take us.
What was the most amazing part of your day? The most amazing part of the whole day was being surrounded by our closest friends and family and having them all share in our special day.
A few other things that stand out in my mind are seeing my husband for the first time prior to the ceremony (great idea), the photo booth that was available during the reception (guests had a blast taking part in this) and getting up on the dance floor with my childhood friends and performing the dance we used to do as kids (which was totally impromptu after my friend requested the song from the DJ).
Overall, it was a fantastic day, and we were so lucky to have had the absolute best photographer, make-up artist and hair stylists that all of Sacramento has to offer. These ladies were all absolutely amazing and a blast to work with. I would highly recommend all of them!
What else would you like to share about your big day? During the planning stages, everyone warned me the wedding day would go by so fast that it would be a giant blur. I brushed this off because I couldn’t image how a year’s worth of planning could really be over with so quickly. Little did I know they were all right!
Once hair and make-up were complete and pictures started, it seemed like the day was over as quickly as it began. Definitely take the time to step back and take everything in because it really does go by as quickly as everyone says it does.

Any other of your wedding vendor(s) you’d like to call out? One of our most favorite wedding details was our custom made cake topper. It was made in Canada by a company called Magic Mud. They do absolutely amazing mini sculptures with clay!
First Dance Song: ”I Melt” by Rascal Flatts
Any advice you’d give to our readers who are planning their weddings right now? One piece of advice I would share is to spend lots of time going through magazines and inspirations boards to get ideas on everything wedding related. Wedding planning can be overwhelming because of the endless possibilities but looking at examples really helps to fine tune your own details.
Anything that you would have done differently if you were given the chance? The one thing I definitely regret was not having a videographer. The entire day goes by so fast and everything becomes such a blur. It would have been so nice to have had a DVD of the day to re-live the experience and to see the wedding from the perspective of the audience watching my bridesmaids lead my Dad walking me down the aisle to Rascal Flatts’ “Broken Road.” I was so focused on getting down the aisle to Jeff that it’s almost like everything else was muted, and I didn’t even hear the song play. I would encourage every bride to seriously consider a videographer!

Inspiration Board: Presenting Jesika and Clay Pelley
The Couple: Jesika Muller and Clay Pelley
Wedding Date: October 3, 2009
Photography by Chuck Roberts Photography
Tell us a little about you and your beloved: Clay and I met through mutual friends in high school. I was 16 and he was 17. We developed a great relationship and friendship while having to grow up and go through our late teens and early 20’s together. We had set goals for ourselves before we could even think about marriage. After accomplishing all of our goals and 9 years into our relationship, he proposed at the same spot where we shared our first kiss. We are truly best friends and couldn’t image our lives without each other. We were blessed to become husband and wife just a few days short of our 12 year anniversary!
What was the most amazing part of your day? Walking down the aisle with my Dad was a very special moment for me, as I am Daddy’s little girl. But most of all was seeing my soon to be husband waiting for me to become his wife. It was an amazing feeling that I will never forget.
What else would you like to share about your big day? We had been planning our wedding for over a year, and to finally see it all come together was more than words could describe. Everything from the venue, flowers, decorations, linens, DJ, and the photographer were perfect. So many friends and family pitched in to lend a helping hand, and creative advice. Even though I was glad not to have to worry about what goes here, what goes there and what color this should be, I do miss it and would do it all over again in a heartbeat.

Videographer: We decided not to hire a videographer because our minister (who is part of the family) took video of the day. It turned out amazing. We are so lucky to have these special moments captured.

First Dance Song: “Can’t help falling in love” by Elvis Presley
Any advice you’d give to our readers who are planning their weddings right now? “Step back and take a moment to soak it all in.” That was the best advice any could have given me. You hear all the time that the day goes by so fast, as it does. I did just that and I am so glad that I did because that was the moment that I realized this was everything and more that I had been dreaming about since I was a little girl. It really was the perfect day.
Anything that you would have done differently if you were given the chance? Nothing!
